The Make-up Essentials for Every Bride
Your make-up doesn’t need to be heavier than usual for the photos or videos. You just need the right techniques and the right products to look picture perfect.
Foundation:
– Primer is a must. The right primer will keep your make-up on longer, your face shine free and even diminish the appearance of fine lines and large pores. My NEW Mattifier with Vitamin E gives your skin a smooth matte appearance without drying your skin.
– Even if you don’t wear a foundation it’s a good idea to use something to even out your complexion, photos and videos tend to show every little thing. The Ultimate Face Tint is perfect for those who want something that is light weight and feels like you aren’t wearing anything. If you want more coverage try the Flawless Finish Foundation applied with the Buffing Brush for an airbrushed complexion.
– Don’t be tempted to apply a darker foundation to get a healthy glow it will look awful, opt for an all over false tan instead.
Concealer:
– The Concealer is a must!! for dark circles or blemishes apply after foundation or tinted moisturiser for the best results. My award winning Concealer Palette contains 3 shades so that you will look flawless even on honeymoon. I love to team the Concealer Palette with the Mineral Illuminating Pen to really brighten and illuminate under the eyes with NO flash back!
Powder:
– In photos too much shine looks sweaty, even if you want a dewy look keep your t-zone mat. Simply sweep a little Invisible Blotting Powder over your t-zone.
Eyes:
– Waterproof mascara is a must!!! No matter what. If your favourite mascara isn’t waterproof don’t worry simply top it with my NEW Lash Shield Mascara Topper. It will turn any mascara into a waterproof one.
– Curl your lashes. This will instantly open up yours eyes and make them appear larger.
My Heated Eye Lash Curl works beautifully on even the shortest/straightest lashes.
– Apply an eye base like the Crystal Taupe Eye Shine to keep eye shadow looking perfect.
– Eyes need definition so run a Gel Liner in the shade you love along the base of the top lashes and half way along the base of the lower lashes.
– Add some Individual Lashes to enhance your eyes.
Cheeks:
– Try a cream or cream to powder blusher for a healthy flush of colour. Choose rose pinks or soft coral shades.
– For a long lasting effect try layering a cream and a powder blusher in the same colour. Sweep the matching shade of powder blush over the cream and you will achieve a stunning long lasting blush.
Lips:
– Apply a lip base first to keep lipstick or gloss on longer and to help prevent feathering. Next use the Lip coloured Lip Pencil to define the shape and add your favourite lip colour. Or fill lips in with the liner then add colour for longer lasting luscious lips.
Body:
– Try mixing a scented body lotion with a touch of shimmery liquid Bronzer to give your body a stunning red carpet sheen.
Top Tips:
The best tip I could and do give any bride is ‘look yourself’, just more polished.
If you try to go heavier or softer than your regular make-up then you’ll only feel uncomfortable on the day. And worst, you’ll look back at the photos and dislike them. If you want to try out different looks then 2 or 3 months before your wedding is the time to start experimenting. You definitely don’t want to leave it to your Wedding Day and don’t do it any earlier unless you are certain your skin tone won’t change.
To make your make-up last, you could try long lasting products (foundation, shadows, lipstick and waterproof mascara). Or you could try layering, that is applying a cream or cream to powder (eyeshadow & blush) first followed by a match powder (eyeshadow & blush). But most of all, whether you use long-lasting or regular products, take your time applying your make-up.
If you are having black & white photos consider your lip colour. Pale nude shades will make you look like you have no lips while red lip colours can look black. You may want to adjust the colour accordingly.
